Obituary for Nancy L. Franey
Franey, Nancy L. – 84 of Cassandra, passed away at home on March 22, 2018. She was born on June 30, 1933 in Cassandra. She was the daughter of John and Edith (Fury) Franey. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: John Jr. , Michael, and Norma McLucas.
She is survived by her special cousins: Michelle Beck of Lilly and her children: Zachary and Michael; Michael Diehl of Colorado; and Lisa wife of Roger Smith of Cassandra, and their children: Colton and Kacy. Nancy is also survived her brother-in-law: Homer McLucas of Cassandra and by many cousins, extended family and her special friends: Alice Sheridan of Johnstown; Robert Stupi of Annapolis, MD and Janet DiNinno of Johnstown.
Nancy was a Registered Nurse and lastly employed by the Former Lee Hospital and Community Nursing Service of Johnstown. She was a member of the former St. Agnes Catholic Church in Cassandra and she was very proud of her Irish Heritage. She also served for many years as a Board Member of the Portage Area Ambulance Association and on the Cambria County Elections Board for Cassandra.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, March 25th at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home Inc. of Portage. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Monday March 26th at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Wilmore, Fr. Nale, Celebrant. Committal to be held in St. Bartholomew Church Cemetery in Wilmore.
The Family would like to express a heart- felt thank you to Conemaugh Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, Nurse Aide “Woo Hoo Sue” and Fr. Scott Lill.
