Obituary for Nancy V. Behe
Behe, Nancy V. – 79 of Portage, passed away on July 14, 2018 at home. She was born on February 25, 1939 in Martindale. She is the daughter of William T. and Victoria V. (Metz) Walls. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: John D. “Bucky” Behe and her brothers: Charles Sr., William “Tom”, David and Alfred Walls.
She is survived by her children: Wanda Hagerich and companion Johnny Wilhelm of St. Michael, Janice wife of Winston Thompson of Columbus, MS and Glen Behe and wife Karen (Osman) of Portage. She is also survived by her grandchildren: John Ronan and wife Dottie of Portage, Glen “Bubba” Behe and wife Ashley of Columbus, OH, Courtney Ronan of Portage and Matthew Hagerich and wife Danielle of Altoona and her great granddaughters, who were her life: Alivia and Alexis Barto of Portage. She was the sister of Fay Myers of Spring Grove.
Nancy was a retired nurse aide from the Ebensburg Center. She loved camping, traveling and crocheting. She was a strong woman and breast cancer survivor. Over the years, Nancy, thru her husband Bucky, learned to love football and baseball. Most importantly she loved her family and spending time with Alivia and Alexis. Nancy’s special care givers were her grandchildren: Courtney, Dottie, and John, who loved her very much and took excellent care of her over the years.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. of Portage. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Martindale Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Pastor Jerry Zuvers, officiant. Committal will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Johnstown. The family would like to give a special thank you to, Kari, Tim, Vince, Kim, Ashley and Chalsea and to 365 Hospice for their support, love and care.
