Obituary for Patricia E. Hershel
Hershel, Patricia E. "Patsy" - 81 of Lilly, passed away on December 5, 2020 in Altoona. She was born on June 23, 1939. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Watt) Hershel. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: John, Larry, Clair, David, George, Ruth, Stella Marie Hershel, Janet Costlow, Elizabeth Bossler, Vera Doyle, Mary Lou Nolan and Frances Hershel. She is survived by her sister Anne Fetsick of Pittsburgh and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Patsy is also survived by her sister-in-law: Kathryn Hershel of Portage and a very dear friend, Doris of Lilly. Family was very important to Patsy and she always had a smile on her face when she was with them. She made everyone feel so special and loved. She greatly enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews and enjoyed their company. She brought little gifts to all her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews throughout the years. Patsy was a devote Catholic member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church in Lilly. She greatly instilled her belief and taught prayers to her nieces, family and all who wanted to learn about faith. She was a former cook at Mount Aloysius College and an environmental technician at St. Francis University. Most recently, until retirement, Patsy, greatly enjoyed the love of being a caregiver for many people in the area. Her greatest love was her family. She also enjoyed playing a good game of bingo with her nieces and friends. She was one of the most caring and loving souls always with a smiler on her face and the most pleasant disposition. She left an imprint on many lives. Love and miss you our beautiful Aunt. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic viewing and services will be private to the family.
