Obituary for Pearl M. Maul
Maul, Pearl M. – 86 of Portage, passed away on May 29, 2022 in Portage. She was born on October 12, 1935 in Johnstown. Pearl was the daughter of Richard and Bessie (Wills) Cordwell. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Richard “Dick” Maul, her sister: Lucille Wagner, her daughter-in-law: Susan Maul, her brother-in-law: James Zearfoss and her sister-in-law: Joanne Lamar.
She is survived by her sons: Richard Maul, Jr. and wife Naomi, Walter Maul and wife Bernice, Harry Maul, Timothy Maul and wife Brenda, Alfred Maul and wife Dianna, David Maul and fiance’ Judi Letzo, all of Portage and her daughter: Jenney wife of Jeff Williams of Summerhill. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren, her sister: Bessie Zearfoss of Benscreek, her in-laws: James Wagner of Reading, Walter Maul and wife Myrna, Alfred Maul and wife Linda, Thomas Maul and wife Sandy, all of Portage, Dave Lamar of Benscreek and her good friends: Dee Tomaselli and Aggie Ceslovnik of Sidman.
Pearl was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church in Portage, where she was also a member of WELCA. She served as a volunteer in the past on the Cambria County Elections Board. She was formerly employed by Sedloff Publications in Portage.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Portage, Pastor Mark Fischer, officiant. Committal will be held in Lillydale Cemetery in Lilly. The Maul Family would like to give a special thank you to Ascera Care Hospice and Staff for the care and compassion that they had given to Pearl. On line condolences may be made at www.decortfh.com
