Obituary for R. Daniel Chelednik
78 of Portage, passed away on August 14, 2022, peacefully at his daughter, Renee’s home in Trafford, PA. He was born on November 8, 1943 in Wilmore. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Veronica (Sulik) Chelednik, his wife, Nancy (Gray) Chelednik, his daughter, Wendy Chelednik and his sister Ruby Moore.
Dan is survived by his loving daughter, Renee Rose (John), his granddaughter, Danielle Lahosky and his grandson, Mark Adam Lahosky, Jr., a brother, Edmund Chelednik (Barbara Burda) and several nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Portage Area Highschool, Dan, enlisted in the USAF, before being employed by Westinghouse Electric. He loved his grandchildren, retirement, college football, working on old cars, listening to the oldies, PIZZA, Netflix, Sugar Skulls and the Reaper. He will be sadly missed. Renee would like to thank Dee and Theresa for their support and friendship, without which, dad would not have been able to stay at home. I will forever be grateful, as was he.
A Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Bartholomew Church Cemetery in Wilmore, Fr. Thomas Stabile. Military Service will be held by the Portage Ritual Team.
