Obituary for Richard R. Burk
Burk, Richard R. 87 of Ebensburg, formerly of Stuart, FL and Portage, passed away at his home on July 18, 2022. He was born on January 16, 1935 in Muncie, Indiana to Louetta Rhoton Burk and Gerald Burk. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Merle Turner; grandson, Nathan Thomas Burk; his siblings James Turner, David Turner and Mary Lou Edwards.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Susan Michaels Burk; son, Scott Burk (wife) Karen Krisko Burk, grandsons, Nick Burk (fiancé) Andrea Wallack; Nolan Burk; granddaughter, Olivia Burk, all of Portage. He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy (Lance) Lillie of Cedarburg, WI and Margaret (Larry) Lucas of Ft Pierce, FL., sister-in-law, Carol (Greg) Shaw of Muncie and several very special nieces and nephews.
Richard was a 1953 graduate of Cowan High School; 1961 Ball State University; and proudly served his country in the Army. In 1968 he established B & B Tool & Die in Muncie. In 1991 he was inducted into the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding fast pitch softball play.
He was an avid golfer, fisherman and all-round sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed the beach and vacations spent with family.
At Richards request, there will be no funeral services. The Burk Family is being served by the Matthew R Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc in Portage.
