Obituary for Robert H. Gahagen
Gahagen, Robert H. “Duck” – 83 of Portage, passed away on March 4, 2023 in Ebensburg. He was born on November 6, 1939 in Manhattan, New York. He was the son of Adele Borlie. He is preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents: Katherine and Michael Borlie.
He is survived by his wife Linda L. (Brunnet) Gahagen of Portage and their sons: Robert “Rob” Gahagen and companion: Janell P. Stemrich, Mark Gahagen and wife Janice (Roush) and Keith Gahagen and fiance’ Dawn (Oravecz) Binaut all of Portage. He is also survived by his granddaughter: Ivy Kick of Ehrenfeld. Duck was a former manager for Foodland and the Quaker Market. He was lastly employed and retired as custodial and maintenance from the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Portage. He was a member, Pilgrim and a former administrator for the Portage Moose. Duck was a Notre Dame football fan. In the past he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom picking. He was a US Army Veteran and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile. Committal will be private.
