Obituary for Robert S. George
George, Robert S. – 76 of Lilly, passed away on October 4, 2023 in Portage. He was born on December 28, 1946. Bob was the son of Elmer and Josephine (Madey) George. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters-in-law: Betty (Biter) George and Linda (Billetdeaux) George and his nephews: Jason and Derek George.
He is survived by his siblings: Richard George of Williamsport, Ronald George of Lilly and Sally George of Lilly. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Dr. Richie George and wife Tasia of Baltimore, MD, Tyler George and wife Megan of Gallitzin, Shane Billetdeaux of Cresson , Lily George of Lilly and Heather Chirdon of Virginia Beach, VA and great nieces and nephews: Ellie, Brady, Cienna, Derek, Irelyn and Jax. He will be missed dearly by his best buddies and canine pals: Elmer and Bo Buckets.
Bob was a 1964 graduate of Lilly-Washington High School. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. Bob was the owner of Georges Bar better known to all as Tookies in Lilly from 1986 to 2017. He was a life member of the American Legion in Lilly, Post #216. Bob enjoyed weight lifting and building model ships.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church in Lilly, Fr. Matthew Reese.
Committal in St. Brigid Cemetery in Lilly. Graveside Military rites by the local Veterans Honor Guard.
