Obituary for Robin R. Giardina
Giardina, Robin R. 66 of Salix, passed away on May 6, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1958 in Johnstown. Robin was the daughter of Gerald “Jerry” and Shelby (Haberkorn) Thomas. She is preceded in death by her parents and her infant daughter, Sara Kinback. Robin is survived by her children: Guy David, Nicole Brawley (Jeremy) of Jackson Township and Ashley Kinback (Ryan Rummel) of Sidman. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kara Goas (Bobby) and Chloe and Phoebe Rummel and great grandchildren: Ayden, Evalyn and Emmett and her siblings: Debora Thomas, Joy Ashurst and Stacey Horrel (Leif) and their daughter, China.
Robin passed peacefully with her daughters by her side after her hard, fought battle with cancer. She fought with grace, strength, dignity and spunk to the very end. Robin was one of a kind from her quirky sense of humor to a heart that loved like the depths of the oceans. Whether it was her love for God, family, friends, animals, plants, or even a juicy conspiracy theory or two, she loved big. We could talk about where she worked, the usuals, but to us the thing that she shined brightest in was being mom. Not only to her kids and grandkids but to all that needed it. If you needed to chat, she was there with the coffee on, if you needed a warm bed to stay, she got you an extra blanket and if you were down on your luck, she opened her home and heart until you got on your feet.
We are not saying she was perfect, no one is, and she certainly didn’t have the easiest of lives but she always did her utmost best in all things. She always tried to find the ray of sunshine in every storm. Love your moms, squeeze them tight and remember they’re always right.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Robin on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 from 2PM to 5PM at the Berwind Wayside Festival Park (St. Michael). The Giardina Family is being served by the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. (www.decortfh.com)
