Obituary for Roy R. Walls, Sr.
Walls, Roy R., Sr. – 73 of Portage, passed away on October 7, 2023 in Portage. He was born on March 26, 1950 in Johnstown. Roy was the son of William T. and Dolores I. (Coles) Walls. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Linda J. (Ludwig) Walls of Portage, his Son, Roy R. Walls, II and his wife Kristine of Portage and his Daughter: Sharon K. Barno and her husband, Christopher of Altoona. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sara, Emily and Alison and his great grandchildren: Maisyn and Luke.
Roy was the brother of Thomas R. Walls and his wife Patty of Roanoke, VA, Jeffrey L. Walls and his wife Cathy of St. Francis, MN and Teresa M. Ellis and her husband Jeffrey of Duncansville, PA. Roy was a U.S Army National Guard Veteran.
He was formerly employed as a Coal Miner for Bethlehem Mine #33. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs, hunting and fishing and working with his John Deere Tractor. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
Family will receive friends from 12 PM until time of 3 PM Service on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc. in Portage, TJ McCabe, officiant. Military Rites by the Portage Ritual Team. Committal in Forest Lawn Memorial Park will be held at a later date and private to the immediate family. Online condolences may be made at www.decortfh.com
