Obituary for Sally Jo Castel
62 of Portage, passed away at home on June 28, 2020. She was born on May 9, 1958 in Johnstown. She was the daughter of Patricia “Pat” (Kick) and Charles “Steve” Minor, Sr. Sally is preceded in death by her father, father-in-law: Ted Castel, Sr., mother-in-law: Marie (Sendzik) Storey and a sister-in-law: Lori Castel. She is survived by her loving husband Mark A. Castel, Sr., her Mother: Pat of Portage, Sons: Mark A. Castel Jr. and wife Brandy (Weakland) and Craig A. Castel and wife Kelly (Regan) all of Portage, her grandson: Erik, granddaughters: Sydney and Lyndsey and grandson soon to be born: Cole. Sally is also survived by her brother Charles “Charlie” Minor, Jr. of Portage, her niece Paige Minor and boyfriend John Branick, a great nephew: Braydon Minor, all of Portage, sisters-in-law: Theodora “Cookie” wife of Joe Silva of Portage, Adonna wife of Greg Heming of New Florence, Tracey wife of Bob Nadolsky of Portage and step brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Ted, Matt, Christine, Casey and Robert and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sally was a very caring and loving person to all that she knew. She had a big heart and always put others before herself. She enjoyed company at the house and she always made sure that you never left hungry. She enjoyed country music and was one of Elvis Presleys biggest fans. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM and on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the funeral home, Fr. Thomas Stabile.
