Obituary for Scott D. McCabe
McCabe, Scott D. “House” – 43 of Portage, formerly of Colorado, passed away on June 17, 2023 at home. He was born on June 6, 1980 in Johnstown. Scott was the son of Vicky McCabe. He is preceded in death by his grandmother: Betty (Inman) McCabe and his aunt: Debbie (McCabe) Douglas.
Scott is survived by his daughter: Ava J. McCabe and her mother: Ericka Just and Jonas Sciko, whom Scott considered his son, his mother: Vicky McCabe of Portage, his sister: Jess Crum of Portage and his brother: Duncan McCabe of Portage, and his grandfather Raymond McCabe of Portage. He is also survived by his aunt: Gail Tarachko and companion Joe Previty of Portage and uncle Dean McCabe and companion Judy Garbacz of Portage and his cousins: Jeremiah Douglas, Leah Benton, Sheena Thomas and Hannah and Austin McCabe as well as many extended family members and friends.
Scott was a former property manager in Colorado. He enjoyed motorcycles and the great outdoors. Most important to Scott was spending time with his daughter, Ava, family, friends and his animals.
A Prayer Service will be held at 1PM followed by a reception of friends until 4PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Committal will be private to the family.
