Obituary for Thomas S. Kertes
Kertes, Thomas S., 67 of Portage, passed away on December 6, 2023 in Johnstown. He was born on September 30, 1956 in Johnstown. Tom was the son of Steve and Jennie (Lange) Kertes. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Chryl Ann (Heckman) Kertes, his infant sister: Claudia Kertes and his brother: Edward Kertes.
Tom is survived by his sister: Carol (Kertes) wife of Larry Riggleman, Sr. of Portage, his brother: Michael Kertes and his wife Mary of Harrisburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was a retired Business Agent for S.E.I.U. with the Local 668 Union. He was also a retired employee of Cambria Residential Services. In his younger days, Tom, enjoyed hunting and fishing. At Tom’s request there will be no viewing, visitation and/or services.
The Kertes Family is being served by the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Tom’s name to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963.
