Shall, Thora M. - 95 of Portage, formerly of Wilmore Heights. Passed away July 9, 2013 at her daughters residence in Portage. Born February 3, 1918 in Vintondale. The daughter of Elmer and Bertha (Schroyer) Pugh-Gallagher. Preceded in death by parents, husband Stanley W. Shall, who passed away in 2001, Step Siblings: Joseph Pugh and Irene (Pugh) Howell, Siblings: Lloyd, Harold, Merle, Elmer and Millard Gallagher, Martha Culley and Thelma Capara. Survived by children: Philip Shall and wife Debra (Vandenberg) of Ebensburg; Sharon wife of Ed Alexander of Portage; James Shall of Portage and Daniel Shall of Altoona. Grandchildren: Philip, Heather and Amber Shall; Ed, Stacy and Brent Alexander; Jessica and James Shall Jr.; Jarret, Nathan and Brittany Shall; and great grandchildren: Emma Alexander, Eric Gergly, and Caitlynn and Rosalee Smith. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Thora was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a former member of the St. Anne Society and a Eucharistic Minister. Thora loved the Lawrence Welk Show, music, singing with her daughter and dancing. She also loved her flowers, collecting owls and she was a great cook and the best baker of homemade goods, especially known for her breads and pies. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. of Portage, where a vigil will be held Thursday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Wilmore, Fr. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal in St. Bartholomew Church Cemetery.
