Obituary for Troy M. Scarton
Troy Scarton, son of Michael and Kathy Scarton, died in his home on September 6th, 2015. He was born on July 25th, 1983 and graduated from Portage Area High School in 2001. Troy is survived by his parents; his siblings, Carly and Eric; his Grandmothers Lillian Randall and Nona Dorothy Scarton; his girlfriend Brandy; and his unborn son. He is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal Grandfathers. Troy lived a full life and blessed the lives of so many. From a young age, Troy's compassion for helping out others was evident. He was always happy to help out friends and family with any task. Those who knew him remember his kindness and big heart. Troy was an avid sports fan and foodie, willing to try anything once. He was often found rooting for any Pittsburgh team, particularly the Pirates. His love of baseball was palpable. He would spend hours outside playing catch with his girlfriend's son, Ryan, whom he truly loved. Troy was undoubtedly a hard worker and was employed by GMS Mining. Troy is remembered as a bright, respectful, and loving individual. He will be missed very much. All are welcome to attend a viewing at Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. of Portage, on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 between the hours of 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm. The funeral service will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 9th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Troy's name to First Summit Bank for a fund that has been set up for his unborn son.
