Obituary for Wayne C. Gonchar
Gonchar, Wayne C. of Portage, formerly of St. Augustine Florida, passed away June 28, 2013 at Maple Winds Nursing Care Center. Born in Georgetown, Washington D.C. The son of Michael T. and Frances (Johnson) Gonchar. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Barry W. Gonchar and father and mother-in-law: Walter R. and Christine M. Wodoslawsky. Survived by loving wife: Ellen (Wodoslawsky) Gonchar, son: Kyle Raymond Gonchar, both of Portage and daughter Jennifer L. wife of Andy Slavic and grandchildren Rosemary and Louis of Elwood City, PA and pets: Sophie, Bella and Ginger. Brother of Donald J. (Susan) Gonchar of Vienna, VA; Michael F. (Dawn) Gonchar of Poolesville, MD; Brian T. Gonchar and companion Kathy of Oxnard, CA; and Diane Wilcox of Baltimore, MD. Also survived by extended family Aunt Mary Jane Wodoslawsky and Uncle Theodore F. Wodoslawsky both of Portage, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Wayne was a Master Sergeant with the Marine Corp where he received many medals and ribbons for his duty and 30 years of service to his Country and a former purchasing specialist for the United States Postal Service in Jacksonville, FL. At Wayne's request there will be no viewing or visitation. Services will be private to the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Wayne's name to a charity of their choice. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Maple Winds Nursing Care Center for the exceptional care and attention that they gave to Wayne. The Matthew R.
