Obituary for Wayne R. Ellenberger
Ellenberger, Wayne R. -78 of Elton, passed away on March 28, 2024 at home. He was born on August 26, 1945 in Johnstown. Wayne was the son of Hazel M. (Varner) and Charles F. Ellenberger. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughters: Rhonda L. Ellenberger of Salix and her son Channing M. McGinnis of Johnstown and Tracy L. Green and her husband Ben of Llanfair and their sons: Mitchell R. Bulich of South Fork and Cody W. Green of Martindale. Wayne is also survived by his sister, Iva Jean Kuntz and her husband James of Elton.
Wayne was formerly employed in the past as a welder, fitter for Thiels in Windber, U.S. Steel, and for the State of Pennsylvania as a Deputy Game Warden. He was lastly employed at PA Game Lands 42 in New Florence for the food and cover corp. He served as a security guard for the Forest Hills School District, upon his retirement from the state. Wayne also served as a constable for Adams township and he worked the voting polls at the Elton Church and the Fire Hall in Dunlo. Wayne was a member of the Greater Johnstown Saddle Club for over 40 years.
Family will receive friends from 10AM until time of 11AM memorial service on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. in Portage, Pastor Timothy Dietrich, officiant.
Inurnment will be private to the Ellenberger Family.
