McCarty, William E. “Bill” – 88 of Lilly, passed away on December 12, 2021 in Windber. He was born on December 31, 1932 in Cresson. Bill was the son of Warren and Alice McCarty. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: James, Donald, Francis and Patrick McCarty, Peg Eberhart and Helen Eger.
Bill is survived by his loving wife: Agnes D. (Phillips) McCarty of Lilly and their sons: Jeffrey McCarty and wife Lisa of Lilly and Ronald McCarty and wife Krista of Erie. He is also survived by his sister: Kathleen Compardo of Lilly and numerous niece and nephews.
Bill served his Country proudly. He was An Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Lilly American Legion Post # 628 and he formerly served on the Military Funeral Honor Guard. Bill enjoyed fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. In the past, he and his wife, Agnes, enjoyed spending time together especially taking walks in the woods.
