Obituary for Wilma Turgeon
Turgeon, Wilma - 70 of Portage, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 18, 2012 at Altoona Regional Hospital. Born September 13, 1942 in Altoona. The daughter of William and Gertie (Keister) Risbon. Preceded in death by parents, husband Ernest Turgeon, daughter Michelle Edwards and sister Mary Risbon. Survived by children: Nannette Parkinson and friend Bernie Brown of Beaverdale, Deborah wife of Thomas Semanchik of Portage and John "Gary" Edwards and wife Christine (Paulson) of Beaverdale. Grandchildren: Brandi Penatzer (Scott), Bryan Parkinson (Kelli Cominsky), Kirstie Semanchik (Christopher Barto), Gary Edwards (Becky Yoder) , Trista and Alexis Edwards, and Mikael "Edwards" Nefcy and Great Granddaughter Paige Penatzer. Sister of Nancy wife of Robert Goedeker of Rochester, PA. and William Risbon (Peggy) of Mount Joy, PA. Also survived by numerous stepchildren, step grandchildren and special friends Lenny Miller and Michele and Colin. Wilma was currently a member of the Beaverdale Legion Ladies Auxillary and a member of the Forster Grandparent Program. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., of Portage. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Portage, Fr. Walter Moll Celebrant. Committal at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beaverdale. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Wilmas name to the family to be distributed to a charity of Wilmas choice.
