Obituary for Zita Mae Gailey
Gailey, Zita Mae – 76 of Portage, passed away on July 27, 2022, at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh. She was born on July 24, 1946 in Johnstown. Zita was the daughter of Raymond and Winifred (Bastian) Wadsworth-Woollaston. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Raymond Wadsworth, Jr., James and Theodore Wadsworth and her grandson Chans Feather.
Zita is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Donald Gailey of Portage, her children: Joseph Feather Jr. and wife Kelly of Claysburg, Michael Feather and wife Leslie of Claysburg, Angel Styers and husband Dustin of Ball Ground, GA, Jeannine Gailey of Portage and Justin Gailey and wife Bambi of Portage, her stepdaughter, Carolyn Ball of Cresson, and her sister, Mary Ann Robinson of Johnstown. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Angel Feather, Mackenzie wife of Chase Shaffer, Michael Feather Jr., Christian and Dylan Styers, Nick Gailey, Wesson Gailey and Cody Virgillo, as well as nieces and nephews.
Zita retired from Ebensburg Center in 2007 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and being in the outdoors. Most important to Zita was her family and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed being at camp in Cook Forest. Zita was always on the go and always talking to someone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
At Zita’s request, there will be no viewing. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, Celebrant.
