Obituary for Monna M. Eger
Eger, Monna M. – 80 of Portage, passed away on September 20, 2020 in Johnstown. She was born on March 20, 1940 in Cassandra. Monna was the daughter of John and Catherine (Yogus) Wallace. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband: William J. Eger, Sr. Monna is survived by her loving children: Rebecca Eger and companion Rodney Wisen Sr. of Portage, William Eger, Jr. of Portage and Barbi Eger and companion Pia Dowling of Glen Burnie, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shawn Eger of Portage, Danielle Baker of Glen Burnie, MD, Rodney Wisen, Jr. and Carl Baker, both of Portage, Randy Wisen and wife Lisa (Crum) and great granddaughter Evelyn Wisen, all of Altoona and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of Donna Wallace of Cresson and Michael Wallace and wife Betty of Portage. Monna was formerly employed as an LPN for the former Laurel Crest Manor and she was a volunteer at the Helping Hand Rescue Mission in Benscreek. She was a fan of the Portage Mustangs Football Team and enjoyed going to the games. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage, where a Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday. Committal will be held at the convenience of the family.
