Obituary for Karen L. Stager
Stager, Karen L. - 77 of Portage, passed away on December 16th, 2020 in Altoona. She was born on September 29th, 1943 in Johnstown. She was the daughter of John and Isabel Trusik. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, son: David Stager, daughter: Kimberly Stager, grandson: Tyler Flynn and sisters: Beatrice Husband and Edith Layo. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years: Gary Stager. They were united in marriage on July 16, 1960. She is also survived by her children: Jeff Stager and companion Amanda Lipsinic of Portage; Trisha wife of Charles Slebodnick of Portage; Lisa Stager Fiance’ of Dave McCloskey of Portage and Josh Smith of Portage; 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and her brother: John Trusik and wife Marge (Gruss) of Benscreek. Karen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed baking for her family, traveling and shopping, especially QVC. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic all viewing and services will be private to the family. Committal will be held in St. Mary Cemetery in New Germany. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Portage Area Ambulance Association, PO Box 237, Portage, PA 15946. The Stager Family would like to extend a special thank you to Altoona Hospital, especially to 8 Neuro for the care and compassion that they had given to Karen.
