Obituary for Theodore F. Beck
Beck, Theodore F. “Ted” – 68 of Lilly, passed away on May 4, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family after an aggressive diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He was born on February 22, 1954 in Altoona. Ted was the son of Francis J. and Patricia R. (Smith) Beck.
He is preceded in death by his mother, his brother: Joseph Beck, his mother-in-law: Dorothy Conrad and his brother-in-law: John Conrad. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Hazel Smith, aunt, Treva Campagna and his uncles John and Bill Beck.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Regina “Jean Ann” (Conrad) Beck of Lilly, their daughters: Jessica wife of John Garzarelli of Grove City; Crystal wife of Jason Wherry of Loretto and Amanda Beck of Cresson, his grandchildren: Braden, Dominic, Teddi, Kendra, Mason, Drew and his loyal feline fur baby, Alley. Ted is also survived by his father, Francis Beck; father-in-law, John Conrad; sister: Lorraine wife of John Baith; brother: Dave Beck and wife Peggy; sisters-in-law: Michelle Beck, Angie Beck, Elaine Conrad, Charlene Conrad, MaryRose wife of Ken Adams, DeSales wife of Gary Wertz, Eleanor wife of Keith Kearney, and brother-in-law: Mark Conrad, his aunts: Loretta Devit, Joan Wisnieski, Marian Progar and Elizabeth Saintz, along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ted attended Portage Area Highschool and he worked for Cassandra Bottling Company. After graduating he attended Heavy Equipment Operating School and he drove tractor trailer for Stagers Enterprise. He went on to work for Cooney Brothers Coal Company for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Cassandra-Portage Volunteer Fire Company, having joined at the age of 16. Ted enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always up to visit with them, attend games or activities they were involved in or he was just as content to sit and be in their company. Ted enjoyed beach vacations and loved his fur “grandchildren” very much. He was a true family man and a hard worker.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a 1PM Memorial Service at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, followed by a reception of friends from 1:30 PM until 5 PM, Fr. Timothy Harris, T.O.R., officiant.
