Obituary for Christopher M Eckenrode
Eckenrode, Christopher M. “Weo” – 50 of Cherry Tree, passed away on June 25, 2022 at home. He was born on February 15, 1972 in Johnstown. Chris was the son of Floyd P. and Barbara Ann “Babs” (Shuty) Eckenrode. He is preceded in death by his parents and Jack, the family dog.

Chris is survived by his loving daughter Miranda Eckenrode and her partner, Zack Hoskinson and a grandson, Lager “Tater Tot” Hoskinson. He is also survived by his partner, Jackie Lee and her children: Nick Lee and his wife Bethany (Deoskey), Zack and Travis Lee. Chris was the brother of Cindy wife of Ronald LeComte, Debbie Eckenrode, Kevin Eckenrode and wife Stephanie (Pyo), Stacy Eckenrode-Paronish, Brian Eckenrode and wife Dannielle (Parisi) and Loriann wife of Larry Dennis. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Lucas, Karly, Erica wife of Frank Gribbin, Landen, Brody, Ava, Lauren, Steven, Lexi, Zachary, Stephanie, Kristen wife of Madison Shobert, Serena, Renee, Kara, Jacob, Cody, Arlo, Caleb, Carter, Caden, Rocky and Rayder and his faithful dog: Lucy.

Chris was a former student at the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute. He was formerly employed at Justine’s Country Club, Fry Metals and lastly as a field service technician at Elgin Separation Solutions. He enjoyed fishing in Erie and hunting, especially archery. Chris loved to travel. He spent a lot of time hunting all over the United States and in Africa and Canada. He was an advocate for gun safety courses. He spent his time reloading ammunition and he was an avid gardener and a chef. He worked on many projects around his home and he was always looking for places to go with his dog, Lucy.

Most important to Chris was his family. “Weo” will be greatly missed and remembered as a mentor to all his family and friends, especially his nephews.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Funeral Services will be private to the immediate family. On-line condolences may be made at www.decortfh.com
