Obituary for Peggy R. Shoff
Shoff, Peggy R. – 85 of Portage, passed away on November 26, 2017 in Windber. Peggy was born on April 1, 1932 in Johnstown. She was the daughter of Raymond and Inez (Atkins) Clapperton. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son: Kenneth R. Shoff and her sisters: Barbara Shandor, Gayle Philbrick, Lois Jaap and a brother-in-law: Joseph Shandor.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Eldred P. Shoff and her children: Robert Shoff and wife Joelle (Offman) of Cassandra; Todd Shoff and wife Carol (Ickes) of Hamburg, NY; Kris Shoff of Portage and Leigh Ann wife of Michael Hutsky of Mechanicsburg, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Joshua Shoff and wife Maria (Bernazzoli) of Wilkes-Barre; Cory Shoff and wife Jennifer (Dunmyer) of Windber; Kaitlyn and Jacob Shoff of Hamburg, NY; Nicole Crowell wife of Travis of Virginia; Taylor and Rachel Shoff of Lilly and Lauren and Adam Hutsky both of Mechanicsburg; and Great Grandchildren: Conor, Margaret, Ellie and Catalina Shoff and in-laws: Charles Jaap, Richard Philbrick and Robert and Rose Shoff.
Peggy was formerly employed at the Cresson Sanitorium, Cresson Center and the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home as a LPN. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of the Church Choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family, boating, camping and fishing.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home Inc. of Portage. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Portage, Pastor Arthur Black, officiant. Committal at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Johnstown.
