Obituary for Robert M. Moyer
Moyer, Robert M. – 80 of Portage passed away on June 6, 2023 in Johnstown. He was born on December 6, 1942 in Johnstown. Bob was the son of Anita Moyer and William Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Romayne (Jones) Salsgiver and Lorain “Boy” Jones.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Carol A. (Seymour) Moyer of Portage and their children: Rhonda wife of Carmine DeMatteis of Johnstown, William Moyer and wife Kimberly of Harrisburg and Dana wife of Joe Podrasky of Ocala, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Apryl Dolgas (Jim), Krystal DeMatteis, Melody DeMatties, Shannon DeMatteis and fiance’ Eamon Mahood, Madison Moyer, Emma Moyer, Joey Podrasky (Sarah), Alyssa Podrasky and Diana Simpson and great grandchildren: Brady, Alec and Theo.
Bob was the brother of Ron Moyer of Northern Cambria and Ruthann wife of Wayne Pinos of Portage.
Bob was a loyal and dedicated employee and hard worker. He was a former foreman in the coal mines and a truck driver. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Most important to Bob was his family. He loved spending time with his family, dancing, karaoke and darts.
Family will receive friends from 4PM until time of 6 PM Service on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home Inc in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, officiant. Committal will be announced at a later date.
