87, of Portage, passed away on August 2, 2023, in Hollidaysburg. She was born on March 27, 1936, in Portage, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Wilczek) Krull. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andrew M. Teno, Jr., and her siblings: John, Anthony, Joseph, Frank, Stanley, Michael, Thomas, and Edward Krull, as well as Mary Krull, Ann Pisarski, and Rose Sokira.
Helen is survived by her loving children: Kathy, wife of Harold DeLozier; Karen, wife of John Bilchak; Teresa, wife of Don Washam; Linda, wife of Richard Leahey; Carol, wife of H. Troy Layo; and Andrew Teno. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren: Christian DeLozier, husband of Allyson (Heslop); Laura (DeLozier), wife of Jared Helsop; Matthew Bilchak, husband of Sarah (Lutz); Jared Bilchak, husband of Gabrielle (Gouse); Jackie (Washam), wife of Rick Cekovsky; Josh Washam, and friend, Suzanne Fisher; Richie Leahey, husband of Katrina (Pappas); Corey Leahey; Kariann (Leahey), wife of Dylan Steberger; Anthony Leahey, husband of Brianna (Kearney); Trenton Layo, husband of Maggie (Madison); Alexa (Layo), wife of Steve Ciez; Savannah (Layo), wife of Bailey Kerch; Nathan Teno (Hope Demont); Jenna Teno (Jackson Kozlovac); and Mackenzie Teno; and 18 great grandchildren: Therese Heslop; Lucy and Levi Bilchak; Noah, Dominic, and Sophia Bilchak; Janette, Jocelyn, and Rosalie Cekovsky; Cindel, Richard III, and Lilia Leahey; Anthony, Aliza, and Amiyah Leahey; Madilynn and Lydia Steberger; and Jacob Ciez. Helen is also survived by her daughter-in-law Tracy (Oravecz) Teno and her 3 sisters-in-law: Sarah Krull, Germaine Krull and Lorraine Teno.
Helen had a passion for baking for her family and adored time spent playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working at Teno’s Truck and Auto, where she formed lasting friendships with many wonderful people. Helen served as a notary public until 2013. She loved going bowling and shopping with her late sister Ann and cherished spending time with her best friend Judy Fedorko. Additionally, Helen had a strong affection for polka dancing and took pleasure in teaching her family and friends.
Per Helen’s wishes, viewing and visitation will be private, limited to her immediate family. However, all are welcome to attend the funeral Mass on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 11 AM at Holy Family Parish in Portage, with Fr. Thomas Stabile as the celebrant. Afterward, Helen will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Portage.
