Obituary for Paul F. "Chink" Phillips
PHILLIPS - Paul F. "Chink," 81, Portage, passed away Oct. 3, 2015, at Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. Born July 7, 1934, in Lilly, son of Andrew and Anna (Risko) Phillips. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Shirley (Batche) Phillips; daughter, Lisa K. Phillips; brothers, Michael and Anthony Phillips and Andrew "Fox" Phillips; and sister, Mary Novotny (Bob). Survived by son, Paul S. Phillips, and wife, Sheila (Weimer), Florida; daughter, Cathy A., wife of Randy Spaid, Portage; and grandchildren, Andrew Phillips (Lauren), Randy "RP" Spaid (Angelica), Alyssa Phillips, Kelsie Spaid (Trevor) and Tyler Phillips (Sabrina). Also survived by siblings, Bernard "Chris" Phillips, and wife, Helen; Agnes, wife of Bill McCarty, all of Lilly; and Jim Phillips, and wife, Geri (Zock), Portage. Also survived by nieces and nephews, special nephews, Matt and Tony Phillips, and sister-in-law, Velma (Demko) Chippo Phillips, Portage. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Lilly PNA, Lilly Legion and Lilly Sokols. Former employee of First Miss Steel, Hollsopple, where he retired from in 1997. Chink enjoyed Penn State football and playing cards, especially a good hand of poker. Visitation will be private to the family. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Chapel, Lilly, Monsignor John R. Sasway, celebrant. Committal will be private to the family.
