Spaid, Janet M. “Irene” – 79 of Portage. Passed away on April 13, 2016 in Johnstown. Born February 24, 1937 in Benscreek. The daughter of Michael and Mary (Lutz) Rocker. Preceded in death by her parents, son: Ronald I. Spaid, daughter: Rita M. Spaid, brothers: Michael, Edward, John and William Rocker and a sister: Mary Murray. Survived by husband of 60 Years: Robert I. Spaid and these daughters: Joyce wife of Galen Decort of Portage; Joan wife of Richard McCann and Jane wife of Michael Albertelli both of Windber. Grandchildren: Kimberly wife of Brian Freeman of Washington, PA; Matthew Decort of Portage; Maj. Ryan Decort, D.O. of Fairbanks, Alaska and Robbie Spaid of Johnsonburg, PA. Also survived by daughter-in-law: Lisa Spaid of Johnsonburg and numerous step grand and step great grandchildren. Janet was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Portage, where she helped cook for many years. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Sunday at the Matthew R. DecortFuneral Home, Inc. of Portage, where Parastas will be sung that evening at 7 PM. Divine Liturgy will be held at 11 AM on Monday at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church in Portage, Fr.
